Kauai Outrigger Association (KOA) is a non-profit organization devoted to preserving and promoting Hawaiian culture through the sport of Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe Paddling.
Our purpose is to promote and encourage participation in Hawaiian canoe racing activities within our local community as well as at the state and international levels. Our membership consists of eleven clubs on the island of Kauai. We are the proud sponsor of the Prince Kuhio Long Distance race. Our annual Na Pali Challenge is a world-class distance racing event.
Until 2015 we were known as Garden Island Canoe Racing Association (GICRA). Since then, we’ve been building our community as KOA. We look forward to a bright future thanks to the continued engagement of our communities and visiting crews. Find a club near you and join us as we grow together.
